Community History and Overview
1200 homes were originally developed in the Harbor View community over three phases in the 1960s. The original houses were designed by a single builder around six different floorplans. Today you can find a broad mix of the original homes, remodeled homes, and completely new ones.
Harbor View is located within Newport City, and its frontiers are San Miguel Drive, San Joaquin Road, MacArcthur Boulevard, and Bonita Canyon Drive.
Harbor View provides a comfortable living experience for a broad range of households from couples and single homeowners to large families. For outdoor activities it has parks and is close to the beaches, and for community entertainment there are numerous events. It is also very close to the Corona Del mar Village.
Recreation Areas and Facilities
The facilities are divided according to the original three phases of development, where each phase features its own clubhouse, pool and community association. They each provide unique events for the community members throughout the year.
Most houses are of the Eastern Seaborne style, with a number of remodeled houses.
Harbor View features an elementary school, Andersen Elementary School, within its boundaries, while older children attend Corona del Mar Junior and Senior High School.
Shopping and Services
The community boasts several strip malls with a major grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies and personal services. The world famous boutiques and clothing stores of Fashion Island are only a short drive away.
